MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Good Afternoon Parent/Guardians,
Our staff at Howard is already planning for next year! We will start developing class lists for the 2016-2017 school year in April. Creating class lists is a time consuming task for staff as they consider the following variables:
· Matching learning styles and strengths of students with teaching styles of teachers.
· Distributing children who see special teachers in a manner that will facilitate scheduling
of their special classes.
· Separating children who have demonstrated personality conflicts that interfere with
learning.
· Equalizing class size.
· Balancing the ratio of boys and girls.
We feel the above factors are very important in creating successful classroom environments. We also know that as a parent/guardian you have unique insight into your child. Therefore, the the attached “Student Placement Consideration Form” can be completed if you would like to provide information that may be helpful in your child’s classroom assignment for next year. Our team of teachers, counselor and principal will consider the factors listed but will use their professional judgement for the final placements. A parent request will only be considered if the reason clearly shows a negative impact on their child’s learning if the request were not granted. Parent requests and “Student Placement Consideration Forms” must be submitted to me in writing no later than April 15th (click this link to print). Our desire is to place each student in the best environment for their learning and strengths. We have a very talented and dedicated staff at Howard, and we look forward to working with your child next year.
Due to uneven growth and other unforeseen factors that can occur within our school district, the room/teacher your child will be assigned to will not be available to you until late summer. In past years, we have had to add teaching staff during summer months to accommodate large numbers of new students enrolling at Howard during June, July and August.

Upcoming Event To Mark On Your Calendars!!!!
Join us in performing the Pledge of Allegiance and be part of Fan Tunnel at the Green Bay Blizzard Football Game!! 4/15/16 @ 7:05pm See attached for information!! (Note....deadline to turn in form and money has been changed to Tuesday, March 29th!!) It is that time of year again……Bay Port musical season! They will be performing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Due to the nature of the show, they will be attracting a younger audience!! Please read flyer for full details!!
Seroogy’s fundraiser pick up is today between 3:30-5:30pm!!
Don't forget - Howard Apparel order forms are due tomorrow!! Orders will be sent home with your student after spring break! HPSA's Spring Dance & Raffle is April 7th from 5:30 - 7:30. There will be pizza & concessions for sale, FANTASTIC prizes to win, and the 50/50 raffle. Order forms for tickets are in the family folder today. Tickets will be sold for a short time at the beginning of the dance but we strongly encourage you to preorder. Ticket orders & money are due March 31st. Click here to view the order form. Please check the lost and found table if your student is missing an item. Anything that is left on the table will be donated soon. There are many gloves, boots and snowpants!! Thank you!

If you know families outside of the Howard-Suamico School District who would like their children to attend our schools, the application period for the 2016-17 school year is February 1 through April 29, 2016. These days will be realized through minor adjustments to the start and end times for students to ensure we meet Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction guidelines. Please see those details below. Additionally, the number of early release days at the Elementary level will be adjusted from ten to six. Lineville, Bay View, and Bay Port will retain two early release dates.

4K Registration is available online starting February 1, 2016 on the Howard Suamico District website atwww.hssd.k12.wi.us/registration for 2016-2017 using our automated online registration system InfoSnap.
Walk-In Registration will be available at the Howard - Suamico School District Office February 1 (8 am to 4 pm). To secure your child’s registration for the 2016-17 school year, the time to register is now. It is important for you complete the registration and provide verifications as soon as possible to finalize the registration process (NOTE: child must be 4-years-old on or before September 1, 2016).
You may register anywhere there is internet access or at a kiosk located at one of the elementary schools or at the district office.
