DISMISSAL AND ARRIVAL PROCEDURES!!
As we are in the final month of school, we would like to send a reminder of arrival and dismissal procedures for our students. We know that as the weather starts to get nicer there are also more changes to the routine at the end of the day. As a friendly reminder, please review the procedures for Howard Elementary:
Busing students arrive and depart from the back/west doors in the commons area.
Parents picking up their student(s) are to enter through the front doors at 3:15, sign your student out and wait in the lobby for dismissal of your child(ren). Parents are not to go to the classrooms to pick up the students.
If you pick up your child on an occasional basis, it is most helpful that you send a note with your child on that day, so the teacher is also aware that they are being picked up and not mistakenly put on the bus. If a student does not have a note or we do not receive a call in the office from you by 3:00, your child will be put on the bus.. (The preferred method of communication is in written form, so please send a note with your child with any changes to the pick-up procedures).
With your help, we are able to monitor each child as he/she is dismissed. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. The safety of your child while at school is of paramount importance and we always make our decisions for them based on what is best for them. Thank you for helping us and follow through with this procedure as we finish the year strong!

Next year, HPSA is losing multiple active members due to the transition to Lineville or personal scheduling conflicts. We need YOU to volunteer to help so the group can continue providing free and fun family events. Every parent and guardian of a Howard Elementary School student is automatically a member of HPSA. There are no special requirements, and you don't have to attend every monthly meeting to volunteer. Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to help with an event or two, the group needs your time and talents to keep our school community strong. Please e-mail [email protected] for more information on how you can help.

FUN FROM A - Z
Student Council is sponsoring an ABC Countdown for the last 26 days of school. Each of the last 26 days of school are represented by a letter of the alphabet and a corresponding activity. Some days will require participation from home. Others will merely require attendance. Please keep this calendar handy. The bolded dates are the ones that require home participation. We hope you can participate in as many activities as possible! Here is our calendar of events! |
Planning a Move? Please notify the school office at 662-9700 as soon as possible if your child will be transferring out of Howard Elementary or the district at any time.
Also, contact the school office when an address, phone number and/or contact information changes. It is important to keep student records accurate in case parents need to be contacted in an emergency situation. It also ensures accurate communication between school and home. |
