In January during Life Skills, Howard students will be learning about the Unthinkables and Thinkables and how they experience the Zones of Regulation. A skill to help students respect other people is by promoting turn taking during family game night. A tool to help students when they are angry is to take deep breaths or find a safe spot to calm down. Recess Queen by Alexis O’Neill is a great book that pairs well with these two characters! To learn more, visit Mrs. Zimmerman’s School Counseling Weebly: http://howardschoolcounseling.weebly.com/ 50 cents, limit one per student!
This Friday, January 13th, HPSA will be popping popcorn for students to enjoy at school. Teachers will collect money Friday morning. To purchase popcorn for your student please send exactly 50 cents to buy their popcorn. No change will be given. Once again, stories were shared that parents sent in extra money to cover children who didn’t bring money in, and we are very grateful for that. We witnessed a lot of children happily snacking on popcorn throughout the day that wouldn’t have received any, if it were not for the generous hearts that sent in extra change. Thank you parents! Any additional money, that cannot be used for other students, will be donated to HPSA to help fund busing for our students field trips. Save the Date! Our Spring Dance and Raffle will take place on Thursday, April 6th, 2017. Email [email protected] with any questions you may have.
