On Tuesday, Jan. 19th, our Howard students enjoyed a fun day with our Winter Reading Kick-off Celebration. Our goal is to ensure everyone remembers to get their 20 minutes of reading in daily, and to truly foster a love for reading as we are growing as readers together. We celebrated by allowing students to choose a FREE book, which you may have noticed came home already. We also celebrated with some fun read-alouds and a schoolwide DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) in our hallways to honor our reading community and culture. A special Thank You to HPSA and HSSD The Reading Tree for your awesome support with ensuring everyone gets a new book this winter. For your enjoyment, please view the following youtube link to share in our fun: Howard Reading Celebration 2016
