WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9 BAY PORT HIGH SCHOOL COMMONS 6:00PM-7:00PM The second annual District Visual Art Show will take place in the Bay Port High School Commons exhibiting samples of art work and creative collaborations from K-12 students of the Howard-Suamico School District. There will be a hands-on mural for students and parents to add their creative ideas to. Music will be provided by the Bay Port Symphonic Ensemble and Meadowbrook Choir along with refreshments while viewing some of our finest student’s creative achievements. There will also be an “Empty Bowls” table with ceramic bowls for sale by high school ceramic art students with proceeds going to the Giving Tree. All students of the HSSD and accompanying family are invited to attend in celebration of our amazing arts program. The night’s event is sponsored by the HSSD Art Educators of Daniel Zwicker, Tricia Johnson, Jessica Van Epps, Lynn Grzywa, Jody Vandenlangenberg, Jennifer Perry, Patrick Christie, Todd Richardson, Dan Klewer, and the art students of the HSSD. |

Wear your green or blue “20” “Read to Me” Sweatshirts Sponsored by HPSA and Barnes & Noble ** Look for the Panera Bread fundraising details in today’s family folder that coincide with tomorrows Barnes & Noble Reading Night. 4th Grade Parents: On Wednesday, March 9th, students in 4th grade will visit Lineville Intermediate School for a Music Class Demonstration. Your child will need to choose a music class for 5th grade. Musicians in Band, Chorus, and Orchestra will perform for the 4th graders and discuss the music class options. After March 9th you will be able to register your class choice using an internet link which will be emailed to you. Music class registrations will be due by March 19th.
Band and Orchestra students are strongly encouraged to take summer school music classes to get started with instruments. More music class information will be available on the March 9th registration document and is also assessable on music class websites ( http://linevillehssd.weebly.com/ ). Join the Bay Port Student Council for a family brunch with games and activities starting at 8 am - 11 am in the Bay Port High School Commons. Child Find is a continuous process of public awareness activities, screening and evaluation designed to locate, identify, and refer as early as possible all young children with disabilities and their families who are in need of an Early Intervention Program (Part C) or Early Childhood Special Education (Part B) services of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Child Find Screenings are sponsored by the Howard-Suamico School District as a complimentary service to assess a child’s developmental progress according to their age. The developmental areas to be screened include the following skills;
· Social/Emotional—how your child interacts with others and with their surroundings
· Expressive & Receptive Language– how your child uses and understands language, and articulates sounds
· Gross Motor—how your child performs age-appropriate skills such as jumping, climbing, and accessing playground equipment
· Fine Motor—how your child manipulates toys, everyday items, and writing tools.
· Cognitive—how your child demonstrates cognitive skills such as matching, color recognition, reasoning questions, and following directions.
